David Lee Roth on the Tonight Show

I don't know what to say about this. The bluegrass version of "Jump" isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, and David Lee Roth's voice actually sounds pretty good. But there's something about his performance that's making me cringe. Is it his smile?

It's a mixture of his smile, his shirt and his weird manic "See, I'm having fun! I'm not selling out and this ISN'T LAME!" posture. Who is he trying to convince?

As resident guitar nerd I should point out John Jorgenson of the Hellecasters was playing mandolin in that clip, and looking more like John Tesh the more hair he cuts off.

Also, I LOVED the banjo playing the synth break. Awesome.
